Constantia
This is the easy one from town. From the City Bowl it is often about 25 minutes when the traffic is ordinary. Two vineyards and lunch fill the day. There isn't time for Stellenbosch afterwards.
These are the ones worth naming before you leave. Smaller cellars still show up on the map.
Open a name for the reason to stop, the map pin, and the estate site. Those notes stay on the vineyard list.
How the day goes
Start at Groot Constantia while the car park is still quiet. The manor house and the old cellar are museums now, and they are worth the walk before you taste anything. Klein Constantia is next door, so the second stop costs you minutes, not an hour. Buitenverwachting sits on the same slopes, and Steenberg is a little further south. Either one makes a good lunch.
Before you go
This is the cooler, greener side of Table Mountain, and Sauvignon Blanc is usually the first thing poured. Weekends fill up from mid-morning, so book lunch if it matters to the day. If someone is driving, Constantia is the kind valley for it: short roads, no mountain pass, and home before dark.
