The goat tower is the landmark. Cheese and a casual lunch, on the Paarl side of the pass. The goats have the better view.

Lunch

A short history

Simon van der Stel designated the farm in 1693. It was known as Bloemkoolfontein, and the first wine was recorded in 1699. The name Fairview came later.

Charles Back bought it in 1937. His son Cyril bottled under the Fairview label from 1974, and Charles Back the younger built the goat tower in 1981. Cheese and a casual lunch are the stop. The goats have the better view.
